David Sammel, AIA
SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Throughout his career David has focused on planning, designing and executing exciting, thoughtful, cost-effective solutions for complex building projects with public school clients throughout the NYC metro area and the Hudson Valley. He began his career with a small, award-winning firm, where his love for building better schools began. In 1998, he established his own firm and led it until 2020 when it was acquired by a large, multi-discipline architectural firm, where he served as its National K-12 Practice Team Leader.
With experience leading large and small firms, David can easily focus on the big picture while not losing sight of the details. His work experience includes a wide range of projects including small capital improvements; complex multi-phase reconstruction; new academic, performing arts and athletic spaces; and new buildings.
A true servant leader, his greatest joy comes from mentoring young team members empowering them to achieve their full potential.
David graduated from Virginia Polytechnic and State University (Virginia Tech) with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. In addition to his career in Architecture, he is a United States Marine, having served for 15 years including active and reserve duty
