A safe-zone for learning and exploration, the elementary school library is one of the most important spaces in a school. Whether learning to read, listening to a story, building computer skills or learning to work together, the library is a place for all students throughout the day and for communities will into the evening.
Integral to each elementary school library, the STEAM Lab is designed to engage kindergarten to fifth grade students with areas to design and tinker.
Glen Head Elementary School Library
The transformed Library includes a new STEAM Lab accessible from the library and the main corridor, and a new flexible space whereby an operable glass wall system can fully open the space to support events and activities or close it for a traditional classroom setting.
Glenwood Landing Elementary School Library
Unique as its counter libraries, the Glenwood Landing Library has centrally located stacks flanked by two distinct reading and work zones, and each with their very own conference/breakout room. Used throughout the day, these rooms support the library classroom and library group zone, while also functioning for needed student support service space. The library and STEAM Lab are designed to resonate with a vast range of students from kindergarten to fifth grade with work zones for older students and a story time space for little ones.
