Demonstrating the district’s commitment to its students, faculty, staff and community members

After years of long-range planning and miscellaneous building upgrade projects, the district is acting on its commitment to address building challenges impacting their ability to be innovative and provide a healthy and motivating learning environment, especially to their youngest learners.

From traditional classrooms to age-focused learning centers

Implementation of Long-Range Planning

Tarrytown & Sleepy Hollow, New York

The most recent district-wide capital project, completed in Fall 2020, was the beginning effort to update the district’s buildings and facilities. The scope of work included the modernization of gymnasiums, cafeterias and bathrooms, new outdoor athletic facilities, MEP replacements and upgrades at each school building, and exterior façade improvements including door and window replacements.

MEMASI is now leading a $92M district-wide capital project focused on alleviating student and staff congestion, and modernizing instructional spaces. The project will:

  • Right-size undersized classrooms and provide 17 new classrooms across 2 elementary schools

  • Provide space for new and existing programs like STEAM, Art, Music and Media Art Centers at all elementary schools

  • Transform traditional classrooms to age-appropriate learning centers with flexibility for individual study, traditional lecture and team-based learning

  • Provide needed classroom space at the middle and high school level

  • Improve health and wellness at all schools through all new ventilation, heating and cooling systems, and new lighting.
